Welcome! This tale is about Arjun and his talking backpack. The bag helps him remember things and slowly teaches him to think for himself.

Arjun was 6. He had curly black hair and bright brown eyes. But he kept forgetting everything! He wished for a magic button to help his brain remember.

One day he left his lunch at home and had to swap snacks with friends. 'Oops,' he laughed, 'may I try your sandwich?'

Twice that week he lost his homework. He stared at his empty bag and groaned, 'Oh no, not again! Where did it go this time?'

Next morning Arjun whispered, 'I need something that remembers for me.' Right then a small box appeared at the door. Surprise delivery!

Inside lay a bright blue backpack with shiny star zippers. A note said, 'Dear Arjun, I remember what you forget.' Arjun giggled, 'A backpack that thinks? Really?'

Later he dropped his homework on the sofa and ran out to play. At the gate a tiny voice hissed, 'Pssst… Arjun, homework!' He spun around in shock.

The backpack wiggled! 'Homework,' it repeated softly. Arjun hurried back, grabbed the notebook, and gasped, 'Wow! You do remember!'

From then on the bag chirped gentle reminders: 'Water bottle! Lunch! Library book! Give Mum the note!' Arjun grinned at its helpful voice.

Soon his teacher smiled more and Mum sighed less. Forgetful Arjun was turning into Responsible Arjun, thanks to his chatty backpack.

One busy evening he packed in a rush and raced to the door. Silence. No whisper from the bag. Arjun frowned, 'Hey, did you fall asleep?'

He peeked inside. Everything was there— homework, lunch box, water, book. Arjun beamed, 'I did it myself!'

He hugged the backpack. 'Thank you,' he said. 'You helped me practise until my brain got stronger.'

The zipper curved into a smile. 'Exactly,' it murmured. 'I was your helper, not your forever memory. You've got this!'

After that, the backpack spoke less and less. Arjun hardly needed reminders anymore. His own mind now sparkled and remembered.
