Meet sisters Nitya and Yashvi. They show us how quiet days hide bright surprises. Clouds, mangoes, and giggles can feel as grand as mountains. Adventure lives inside every ordinary moment.

Very early on Sunday, Nitya popped up in bed. She nudged her sister. 'Wake up, Yashvi! Today feels special. Let's hunt for adventure before anyone else is awake!'

Page 3

Sleepy Yashvi opened one eye. 'Will we climb a mountain?' she yawned. 'Or dig up hidden treasure?' asked Nitya. Yashvi giggled, 'Maybe we'll even meet a friendly tiger!'

They rushed to the window. Mrs. Sharma watered her tulsi, the milkman's bell rang, and two pigeons perched on a wire. No tall mountains, shiny treasure, or wandering tigers anywhere.

At breakfast, Amma served sweet mango slices. 'Eat before juice reaches your elbows,' she laughed. Yashvi grinned, 'It's a tiny sun!' 'And tastier than sunshine,' agreed Nitya.

After eating, the girls lay on the grass and watched the sky. 'That cloud looks like an elephant,' said Yashvi. 'That one is Appa's slipper!' giggled Nitya, rolling onto her back.

Clouds kept drifting. The elephant turned into a sailing ship, and the funny slipper puffed into a huge potato. The sisters pointed and named every new shape that floated by.

Bright sunlight made long shadows. Nitya and Yashvi raced their dark twins to the gate. They jumped, waved, and tried to step on each other's shadow, but the sneaky shapes slipped away.

Later, the girls posed at the mirror. Nitya's cheeks ballooned like a fish; Yashvi crossed her eyes. Hair became a rooster's comb, Amma's dupatta a royal cape. Laughter filled the room.

Amma walked in and burst out laughing. 'Are you two practising for a circus?' she asked. Yashvi bowed. 'Yes, Amma. The circus just hasn't sent our tickets!' Amma laughed even harder.

In the cool evening, the girls stretched on an old mat under the mango tree. Leaves whispered, a squirrel leapt, and the air smelled of hot pakoras. Grey clouds gathered, but rain still waited.

Yashvi sighed, 'Nothing exciting happened.' Nitya listed mango suns, cloud animals, racing shadows, silly faces, and Amma's giggle. 'Lots happened,' she smiled. 'We just had to look closely.'

Page 13

'But we never found treasure,' Yashvi said. Nitya tapped her heart. 'Sure we did. The treasure is every happy moment we shared.' Yashvi nodded and hugged her sister.

A cool raindrop touched Yashvi's nose, another splashed Nitya's hand. They jumped up, twirled, and danced as gentle rain polished leaves and filled the garden with the smell of wet earth.

Amma called, 'Come in before you catch a cold!' The girls spun once more, laughing at the sky. On a day when 'nothing' happened, they found pockets full of tiny, shining adventures.
