Rain poured, so Class 2B stayed inside. Quiet Bella sat by the art shelf. She drew her family beneath a huge mango tree, smiling as bright crayons filled her page with sunny, leafy colors.

Suddenly Bella gasped. The red crayon was gone! She searched her desk, pouch, and even under her shoe. No red. Without it, her mango-tree picture—and her heart—felt a little dull and lonely.

'Lost crayons never come back,' Ayaan said with a shrug. Bella disagreed. She felt Red had gone somewhere real, not vanished, and she promised herself she would discover that secret place.

That night Bella set her crayon box on the windowsill. She whispered, 'Red, please come home.' Hugging her sketchpad, she fell asleep while cool moonlight glowed softly across the room.

Rustle! Bella woke as her crayon box shone like a rainbow. Colors swirled around, lifting her from bed and whisking her through sparkling air. She felt amazed, not afraid, as the room faded away.

She landed where pencil-shaving towers twirled, paper roads crinkled, and eraser fruit dangled on trees. A smiling sign read, 'Welcome to the Kingdom of Lost Crayons!' Bella's eyes sparkled.

A sunny yellow crayon tipped a tiny top hat. 'Hi, Bella! Red ran away and our colors fade,' he said. Bella nodded bravely, ready to help her crayon friend and save this bright, strange land.

At the Color Council, wise Blue said, 'Red felt ignored. Now sunsets are pale and roses gray.' Bella's heart ached. 'I still love Red,' she said. 'Let's remind him how important he is!'

Bella followed waxy footprints through Scribble Valley and over Crumple Mountain. Under a torn sketchbook page she found Red, lonely and cracked at the tip, his once-shiny wrapper dull.

'Why hide?' Bella asked. Red sighed, 'Kids choose Blue or Yellow. They forget me.' Bella smiled, 'You color hearts, fire, and brave capes! The world needs your spark. Please come back with me.'

Red took Bella's hand. Back at the Color Wheel he touched the center. WHOOSH! Colors rushed everywhere. Flowers glowed, towers gleamed, and every crayon danced, cheering their bright friend.

Morning came. Red rested in Bella's box, polished and proud. She told no one of her trip, but her next picture glowed with a huge red heart, a secret thank-you to the kingdom she saved.
