On a sunny morning under a red gulmohar tree, Rohan spotted a stick on the ground. It felt smooth to hold, not too heavy, not too light. His eyes shone with ideas.

He raised the stick and laughed. 'This is a VERY important stick!' he told himself. The shiny little branch at the end looked like it could point the way to secret treasures.

Anvi, Neil, Farah, and Dev ran over. Neil frowned, 'It's plain wood.' Rohan grinned, 'Only until we imagine!' The friends leaned in, waiting to see what would happen first.

Rohan dangled the stick above a rain puddle. 'Now it's my fishing rod,' he said. The others knelt beside him and pretended the water was a grand, deep blue sea full of fish.

Farah caught a gold fish, Dev hooked a singing fish, Anvi found a school-going fish, and Neil bragged about an invisible one. Everyone giggled as the puddle splashed.

Next, Rohan swirled the stick like a wand. 'Leaf, become a butterfly!' he cried. The leaf stayed still, but a real butterfly drifted past and landed on a bright pink flower.

The children gasped. 'Maybe the magic just takes time,' whispered Anvi. They watched the butterfly flap away, feeling sure the stick had helped somehow.

They reached a muddy path. Rohan laid the stick across it. 'This bridge will test our balance,' he said. One by one the kids tip-toed over, arms waving for steadiness.

Dev wobbled, Farah imagined hungry crocodiles below, and Neil slipped, then burst into loud laughter. Soon everyone laughed so hard they almost fell into the mud.

Anvi found a short, curved twig. 'A dragon tail!' she cheered. Neil grabbed another, Dev stuck leaf wings on his shirt, and suddenly the group turned into brave baby dragons.

Farah made a flowery crown; Rohan guarded smooth stones he called dragon eggs. The playground faded, and a wild dragon land grew in their minds.

The neem tree changed into a tall castle. Flower beds became thick forests. The puddle spread into a deep lake, and stacked bricks rose into a strong fort for the dragons.

Rohan planted his stick in the soil. 'It's our flagpole!' Farah tied her red ribbon on top. The ribbon danced in the wind, naming their land The Kingdom of the Very Important Stick.

Grandma's voice floated over, 'Hot pakoras are ready!' Stomachs growling, the dragons peeked at their kingdom once more before racing indoors for the tasty treat.

To grown-ups it was still only trees, bricks, and puddles. To the children it stayed a grand kingdom, all sparked by one very important stick—and their shining imaginations.
